PONCHO celebrated 46 years of raising money for the arts on April 12 at the Westin Seattle.
This year’s theme, Nouveau Glam, encouraged close to 500 well-heeled patrons to walk the red carpet for the arts while enjoying a modern twist on yesterday’s glamour. A good time was had by all, as patrons basked in the glam décor, enjoyed fresh cuisine, spirited refreshments and were treated to several outstanding dance performances and a fantastic aerial show throughout the evening. An explosion of post-party revelers danced the night away in the Fashion Lounge while enjoying signature cocktails.
From concept to implementation, Gala Chair Rose Dennis set her sights on delivering an evening of Humor, Fantasy and Glamour and encouraging new faces to attend the Gala and support the arts. "I'm excited about how memorable the evening was for our patrons" says Dennis. "I just can't thank everyone enough for their contributions. I'm always amazed at how dedicated everyone is, particularly our volunteers." From theme to the Glam Gallery Preview Party to the Nouveau Patron priced ticket, the event did see new faces in the audience.
Aside from an evening of glitz and glam, the PONCHO Gala remains a way for our community to come together to celebrate and support the arts. Raising over $700,000 for the arts auction night, including $151,000 for Arts Education initiatives. Steve Kutz of JP Morgan Private Bank, the evening’s Presenting Sponsor said the following about the evening, "What a fantastic event to be involved with. We are so proud to support PONCHO’s efforts in raising money for the arts. The critical fundraising moment of the evening was when Ken Alhadeff engaged the room to Raise the Paddle for arts education, raising over $150,000. Having the Northwest Boy Choir on hand to personally thank patrons for their support really drove home the point that PONCHO is not an option."
Extraordinary Luxury Lifestyle auction items from the evening included:
· An exclusive trip to see London Theatre with a shopping experience for four people – Sold for $15,000
· A Ladies NYC Spectacular Trip for four with a private breakfast at Tiffany & Co. tickets to the Martha Stewart show, and a shopping spree at Macy’s – Sold for $11,000
