PONCHO has been funding arts education programs for the past 11 years. In that time, we've invested $3.5 million and developed a sound understanding of the challenges that still exist in arts education. Based on what we've learned from arts organizations, schools, and community supporters, we're ready to launch a new initiative to tackle sector-wide arts education issues in a new way.
What does this mean for kids? The PONCHO Arts Education Initiative will increase access to quality, high-impact arts education for K-12 students in our region.
Our Arts Education Initiative work will focus in four areas:

CAPACITY BUILDING
QUALITY
Our arts education initiative will ensure more students have access to better arts education. Quality, high-impact arts education is critical for the success of our students, our schools, our community, and our economy. Strengthening the arts education ecosystem and increasing investments in arts education will ensure students get the education they deserve, and are prepared for college and beyond.
Our official launch will be in early 2012.
